2000

This is post number 2000 for the boys' blog -- can you believe it?
Prolific little fellows, aren't they?

We had a very busy and fun-filled weekend.

Friday night we stayed in and watched a little T.V. Saturday was my birthday and the boys did right by me. First of all, they slept late (8-ish) which was wonderful. Then they gave me my gifts -- a big Henry Brown bag (perfect for carrying boys' toys around town) and an antique silver locket (Dad, Grandma and Grampy helped with that) with pictures of Momma's boys inside (which explains why Dad kept harassing me about getting wallet sized photos made). Then Dad went outside and cleaned out the garage so that we can get the car inside again (very helpful now that we are having frost in the morning). After he finished that project, I went for a run and Jay got the boys ready to go to the rugby match. Which left Mom at home alone with a couple of hours of free time. The door had barely closed before I was soaking in the tub, reading the New Yorker. In.Absolute.Silence. (Unlike the night before when I got home before Flora left and tried to take a bath. Hard to relax with Griffith pounding on the door, howling like a banshee, MaMaMaMaMa!!!!) I'm going to have to start sneaking in to my own house. The bath was followed by a nap which was followed by a little shopping. Then Miss Miranda came to play while Mom and Dad hit the town. Sort of. We walked to a local restaurant and had dinner with friends. Home by eleven. Not exactly painting the town red.....

With the time change we were afraid that the boys would be up at the crack o' dawn, but they slept in again. Cousin Tyler came over with his girlfriend and we all had breakfast. Then Miss Samantha came to look after the boys so that we could get some work done. Fall cleaning, I guess. Eight garbage bags of 0 to 6 months baby clothes to the hospital. Thirty bags of clothes, shoes, toys, home goods to Goodwill. Four garbage bags of just garbage. And the basement still looks full.

We tried for a trip to the park, but it was so windy and cold that it didn't last very long. Allan objected strenuously. Griff was having fun, but his cheeks were rosy red in no time so we headed back in. After a little dinner, the guys were exhausted (time change finally caught them). A quick bath and every one hit the hay.
