Thursday afternoon update May 18th

It has been good to hear from so many of you. I'm glad that you've been able to check in on the boys. I'm still learning how to post, etc., so bear with us on that.
Allan has now assumed the mantle of Golden Boy (we can't have two at the same time, but more on that later.) He's been an angel for 8 days now. When we got to the hospital last night, he had been very fussy for about an hour -- kicking and flailing and generally making a nuisance of himself. The nurse wasn't sure that he was going to tolerate being taken out for K-care, but let us give it try. Golden Boy snuggled right in, hung out with me for about five minutes and then fell into a deep sleep. I got to hold him for about an hour. Apparently all he needed was a little lovin'. His weight is fairly steady at 2 lbs 9 oz. He was very peaceful all morning, too. As Dr. Rao said, he is now the happy twin.
Griffith, being all boy, did not wish to take a bath last night. (He takes after his cousin Thomas. I will have to have the same talk with him as Thomas and I had when he decided to stop taking baths and/or using soap and shampoo. Essentially: Boy, kids always remember who the stinky kids were and who picked his nose and all sorts of crap like that. You don't want to be the stinky kid. You will never get a date to Prom if you don't take a bath. With soap. And water.) Anyway, Griffith was very irritable and unsettled so we didn't get to give him a bath or Kcare. He has a lot of crud in his lungs that keeps blocking his tube and causing him distress. They are doing some tests today to see if they can figure out why he's so mucus-y. If he doesn't straighted up, he is going to go from Golden Child to Snot-Nosed Brat in a hurry.
Still, the misbehavior we are seeing right now is pretty minor, comparatively speaking. Here's hoping for another 8 days like this.
