Allan strikes back....

Well, Griffith has been flinging Allan to the floor with a fair degree of regularity of late, despite the no-no's, time outs and attempts to intervene. There really is no question that he intends for him to hit the ground. Griffith literally grabs Allan by the arm or by the back of his shirt and pulls or pushes him down. "Bonk" goes Allan. And then he howls.
(As a side note, it isn't that Allan can't withstand the bonk. Just last night Allan was sitting in the living room floor playing with the ball and it got away from him. In his effort to get in to crawling position and get to the ball, Allan toppled over and hit his head. Hard. And he didn't cry at all. He just laid there with a look on his face like, well THAT wasn't what I was going for.)

Anyway, the boys were playing on the floor this morning and Jay and I were in the kitchen when we heard a "bonk" followed by a howl. We turned expecting to see the usual -- Allan splayed out, howling, Griffith, scampering away, looking guilty. Imagine our surprise to see Griffith over on his back, crying, and Allan sitting there looking innocent. Now we didn't see it happen, but based on the relative positions of the boys and the fact that Griffith doesn't just fall over these days, we are pretty sure that Allan managed to tip him. I guess we should have put Allan in time out, too, but we both had the same reaction and said, in unison, "Well done!"

More new posts tomorrow

I must have taken two dozen pictures tonight. On top of the past couple of days, that's quite a lot.
I set eleven as the time to stop, but have gone over by a bit.

The boys are really most excellent little guys. Tonight was my night 'out' for yoga and sushi, but since Aunt Lee was out of town and Aunt Diane had a sick kid, the night out was over by 7:30, if you include the trip to the drugstore. How things have changed.

Anyhoodle, the boys were full of it when I got home. They were in that lull between dinner and bath. Griff was off in a hundred directions doing whatever-he-pleased so I picked up Allan, intending to hold him on my lap and bond while I had some taco soup. Allan wasn't in my lap two minutes before Griff (who hadn't paid a bit of attention to me in the 10 minutes I had been home) had to be in my lap, too. Daddy missed some of the best shots of Allan trying to push Griff out of my lap. (You read it right -- Allan was pushing Griff. Turn about is fair play, after all.) I had to switch the guys around so that they couldn't shove each other off. Everyone was in a very giggly mood which made for lots of fun.

Anyway, more pictures later. Time for bed now.

I hope it is a European thing.

This strap is a very nice detail....

Oh, big fun...

Happy boys

Who knows why every one was in such a good mood?

Easter Bunny ?

Time Out

Griffith in time out for the second or third time this morning. All he needs is a baseball and mit and he's Steve McQueen.

Unrepentant.

Looking not in the least concerned with being in Time Out.
For the THIRD time. Today. In the matter of about 30 minutes.

Momma's boys

Allan and Griffith first thing in the morning. Hanging out in the pj's with Mom.

Very snuggly boys.

Both boys were ready for a cuddle first thing this morning.

...one, two, three, four!

Swooping in for the rescue

deus ex Daddy.
Griff dunked Allan. That has become fairly routine. We are both right there, but he is fast as lightning.

Just like Baywatch...

Better now

There it is!

Griff, figuring out his hand is underneath the cup.

Thinking about

drinking dirty bath water from the cup. Again.
Brat. Still.

Allan, reaching for the bath cups.

They are different sizes and fit one inside the other. They also have holes in the bottom that let water flow out in different patterns and at different rates.

Big bouncy fun...

Looking pitiful despite having the whole world laid out before him.
He and his brother have sweatpants and long-sleeved t-shirts that are so cute, they just about kill me. They look like little boys. And, since the weather has turned so cold and damp, they look cozy, too.

On the "up" side....

When asked what the kitty-cat says, Griffith now says "meow, meow." It is impossibly sweet.

Allan waves "bye-bye" and may or may not say it. He also has learned how to make his Dad get up off the couch. He was lying on top of Jay and playing with his ball when he dropped it and it fell to the floor. So Jay picked it up and got resituated on the couch. Allan played with it for a few minutes and then "dropped" it the second time. Jay picked it up and got back on the couch, settled back down. Allan "dropped" it again. And grinned. It is terrible to be out-witted by an 18-month old.

Whose kid is this anyway?

Griffith was in "time out" 3 times before 8:30 this morning. Mind you, he didn't get up until 7 and was pretty warm and snuggly for about the first 45 minutes that he was up. After that, it was on. I don't know what got in to him, but he KEPT grabbing Allan flinging him, a la WrestleMania, to the floor. Hard. With me yelling "no! no!" and running to try to intervene. And as soon as Allan hits the floor (hard - did I mention that part?), Griffith high-tails it in the opposite direction. So he knows he's doing something wrong. After his two minutes in time-out, I make him come over and pat his brother (gently) and try to get him to say sorry (fat chance of that). Brat.

Allan's new trick

Allan is not a big fan of trying to crawl. It is a lot of work and, really, isn't there an easier way? Yes, apparently, there is and leave it to him to figure it out.
Rather than crawl, he has developed a technique whereby he puts his hands down in front of him and then bucks, scooting his bottom forward. Much easier to scoot than deal with this complicated and demanding crawling business.
I can't stand it.

Family resemblance

Grampy as a little boy. Griff may bear a bit of resemblance to him.

Grampy emailed some photos from their visit. So there's a little recap of recent events.....
